China Fish 2016 set to expand as 2015 visitor numbers climb 13.6%

Organisers of China Fish have confirmed that the 26th edition of the China International Fishing Tackle Trade Exhibition will return to Beijing in 2016, building on a strong 2015 edition that recorded a 13.6 percent increase in visitor numbers over the previous year. The figures underline the show’s growing pull among international buyers seeking direct access to the country’s vast manufacturing base.

According to official data from the 2015 edition, the exhibition occupied 26,700 square metres of floor space and attracted 51 international exhibitors from 17 countries and regions. Total attendance reached 3,111 visitors, reinforcing China Fish’s position as the premier gateway for global tackle brands looking to source from Chinese factories.

The year-on-year growth reflects a broader appetite among overseas buyers for OEM and ODM partnerships with Chinese manufacturers, particularly in lure production, rod components and accessories. With labour costs rising in coastal hubs and increasing competition from Southeast Asian producers, trade shows remain a critical touchpoint for exporters to maintain visibility with European, North American and emerging-market buyers.

China Fish 2016 is expected to expand the international exhibitor footprint as the country’s tackle makers continue to shift up the value chain. Industry observers note that Chinese brands are investing more heavily in proprietary design, materials innovation and certification compliance, moves that have been encouraged by sustained buyer demand at past editions of the show.

For overseas distributors and brand owners planning their 2016 sourcing calendars, China Fish remains the most concentrated meeting point with the domestic industry. The combination of factory-direct pricing, finished-goods displays and dedicated OEM halls continues to draw a growing share of importers who previously relied on European trade fairs as their primary sourcing channel.

Registration details and the official exhibitor manual are expected to be released in the coming weeks through the China Fish organiser’s channels, with international exhibitors advised to confirm booth allocations early given the tightening space recorded during the 2015 edition.
