CIIE 2025 showcases 79 global debuts across new product launch series
The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) staged one of its most ambitious new product showcases to date, rolling out 79 launch events under the banner of the “CIIE New Product Launch” (进博新品汇) series during the show’s run at Shanghai’s National Exhibition and Convention Center from November 5 to 10, 2025.
Organised by China Media Group, the CIIE Bureau, and the National Exhibition and Convention Center, the four-day special programme was broadcast live on the CCTV News app from November 6 to 9, spotlighting global debuts, Asian premieres, and first-ever China showings of new products, technologies, and services. All launch activities were concentrated in Hall 2.1, a dedicated venue designed to amplify visibility for participating brands and facilitate immediate buyer engagement.
For international suppliers of consumer goods, outdoor equipment, and recreational products, the scale of the launch series signals sustained Chinese appetite for imported lifestyle brands. The expo’s consumer goods section, which traditionally encompasses sporting goods, outdoor gear, and recreational accessories, has become an increasingly important gateway for foreign manufacturers seeking to enter or expand within the China market.
The CIIE’s role as a procurement platform has grown steadily since the inaugural edition in 2018. Over the first seven expos, nearly 3,000 companies participated, and the event has evolved into a critical touchpoint for international brands targeting Chinese distributors, e-commerce platforms, and retail chains. The 8th edition continued that trajectory, drawing exhibitor delegations from across Europe, Asia, and the Americas for a programme that emphasised hands-on product demonstrations alongside traditional booth displays.
For fishing tackle and outdoor recreation suppliers in particular, the CIIE ecosystem offers a distinct advantage over domestic-only trade shows: direct access to Chinese importers and retail buyers actively seeking new SKUs. While the CIIE is not a dedicated angling trade fair, its consumer goods halls have hosted an expanding roster of international fishing, watersports, and outdoor lifestyle brands looking to test market response and secure distribution agreements.
The release of official new product launch videos on the CIIE website extends the commercial window well beyond the six-day physical event. By archiving the launch presentations online, the bureau provides year-round reference material for Chinese buyers and sourcing professionals evaluating product lines, a model that mirrors the digital follow-through increasingly expected at major international trade fairs.
With the 9th CIIE already confirmed for November 5 to 10, 2026, at the same Shanghai venue, international manufacturers and brand owners targeting China’s consumer market now have a clear annual benchmark for product introductions. The 2025 edition’s 79-event launch programme sets a high bar and offers a measurable indicator of the categories and product types drawing the strongest Chinese buyer interest heading into the next cycle.
