China factory expands PE braided line range for global buyers

A Chinese manufacturer has expanded its braided fishing line offering with a new wholesale-focused PE line series, targeting international buyers serving both saltwater and freshwater anglers.

The product, marketed on Made-in-China under the headline “Wholesale Colors 100m 4/8 Strand PE Braided Fishing Lines,” is being supplied in 100-metre spool sizes and built around polyethylene (PE) construction. The line is offered in both four-strand and eight-strand configurations, giving distributors and brand owners the flexibility to match price points and performance expectations across different angling segments.

Colour availability is being positioned as a key selling point. Chinese line makers have increasingly used multi-colour palettes to differentiate bulk PE offerings from competitors in the United States, Japan and Europe, where braided lines are typically sold in muted or single-shade packs. By pushing bright colour runs as part of the wholesale package, suppliers are looking to attract private-label buyers seeking shelf-ready SKUs for the fast-growing lure fishing and bass tackle categories.

The dual saltwater and freshwater specification reflects the broader trend in China’s fishing tackle manufacturing base, where producers are consolidating product lines to serve multiple export regions from a single catalogue. PE braids remain a strong export category for the country due to their relatively light raw material input weight, which keeps shipping costs competitive even on long-haul container routes to North America and the Middle East.

Industry observers note that the 100-metre spool format remains the standard wholesale unit for braided line buyers, particularly importers supplying smaller tackle shops and online retailers. Larger 300m and 1500m spools tend to dominate the Japanese and US markets, while the 100m pack is favoured in Europe and parts of Southeast Asia where retail shelves favour manageable pack sizes.

The continued growth of PE braided line exports from China comes as global demand for braided mainlines rises, driven by the spread of finesse techniques such as the Ned rig, drop shotting and offshore jigging. Chinese factories are responding with strand counts ranging from four to nine, alongside newer coatings and weaves designed to improve abrasion resistance and reduce wind knotting during long casts.

For international buyers, the latest Made-in-China listing underlines how the country’s braided line sector is leaning into colour, configurability and quick-turn wholesale supply as core competitive levers, even as raw material costs for imported UHMWPE fibre continue to fluctuate with global petrochemical markets.
