Cixi Sanyu expands reel range for global tackle buyers
Cixi Sanyu Industrial Co., Ltd. has refreshed its overseas product showcase on Made-in-China.com, presenting an expanded portfolio of baitcasting and spinning reels aimed at international distributors and private-label buyers.
The Ningbo-based manufacturer, operating under the trading name China32NB, positions itself as a one-stop supplier for fishing reels, rods and supporting tackle. The newly updated storefront catalogues a wider range of baitcasting mechanisms, alongside matching spinning reels designed for both freshwater and light saltwater applications. Product listings highlight precision gearing systems, magnetic brake adjustments and corrosion-resistant body finishes, features that have become standard expectations in the mid-to-premium segment of the global reel market.
For overseas buyers, the strategic emphasis is clearly on flexibility. Cixi Sanyu is promoting both OEM and ODM services, allowing importers to specify colour palettes, handle configurations and packaging under their own brand identities. The company is also signalling readiness to support smaller minimum order quantities, a notable shift as North American and European buyers increasingly demand lower inventory risk and faster replenishment cycles.
The move comes against a backdrop of intensifying competition among Chinese reel manufacturers. Producers in Cixi and the wider Ningbo region have spent the past three years upgrading CNC machining capacity and automated assembly lines, narrowing the perceived quality gap with Japanese rivals while maintaining the cost advantages that first attracted Western brands to outsource production. At the same time, raw material costs for aluminium alloys and stainless steel components have continued to fluctuate, pushing suppliers to streamline internal operations rather than rely solely on headline pricing.
Industry observers note that Chinese manufacturers are now investing more heavily in product development. Several factories, Cixi Sanyu included, have introduced in-house R&D teams tasked with designing proprietary gear ratios and drag systems, reducing dependence on imported components. The company’s baitcasting range, for example, features tunable centrifugal brake systems and reinforced brass main gears, specifications that were rarely offered by Chinese suppliers a decade ago.
Distribution channels are also evolving. While Made-in-China.com remains a key gateway for initial enquiries, established exporters increasingly supplement B2B platforms with direct relationships built at trade shows such as China Fish and the ICAST and EFTTEX events in Europe and North America. Cixi Sanyu’s refreshed online presence suggests the supplier is preparing for a busier sourcing season, with catalogue updates timed to coincide with the autumn order-writing window that traditionally drives Q4 export volumes.
For international tackle buyers evaluating Asian partners, the Cixi Sanyu offering reflects a broader trend shaping sourcing decisions in 2026. Manufacturers are no longer competing on price alone but on engineering capability, brand-support services and supply chain transparency. With its expanded reel catalogue and renewed focus on OEM and ODM cooperation, Cixi Sanyu is positioning itself to capture a share of that more discerning buyer base.
